Why Robotics?

Kenya is moving fast. Your learner should be too.

Kenya's government has launched a national push to bring coding and robotics into schools. CEMASTEA is training teachers across the country, the CBC curriculum now includes programming, and Kenyan teams are competing on the world stage at WRO and VEX championships in China and the US.

This isn't the future — it's happening now. And your learner can be right in the middle of it. Robotics builds the skills that matter most: creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and the confidence to turn ideas into real machines.

CBC Aligned

Kenya's curriculum now includes coding and robotics. Sciyetu prepares learners from day one.

Future Skills

Problem-solving, teamwork, coding, and engineering thinking — skills the world needs now.

How Sci Yetu Teaches Robotics

We make robots fun before we make them real.

1

Theory in Games

Learn robotics concepts through interactive puzzles, quizzes, and challenges. Like playing a game, not sitting in class.

2

Virtual Robots

Code real robots in a browser — no hardware needed. Build confidence without pressure.

3

Hands-On Building

Assemble real robots with sensors, motors, and controllers. The "wow, I built this!" moment.

4

Compete & Showcase

Enter challenges, solve real-world problems, present projects. From learner to innovator.

The Learning Journey

One continuous path — from first concepts to real robots.

Virtual

What is a Robot?

Discover the building blocks: brain, body, and sensors. Learn what makes a robot a robot.

Virtual

Making Things Move

Program a robot to move forward, backward, and turn. Master direction, distance, and speed.

Virtual

Lights, Sound & Signals

Make robots talk back with LEDs, buzzers, and blinking patterns. Learn inputs and outputs.

Virtual

Sensors — Teaching Robots to See

Ultrasonic eyes, touch sensors, and line followers. Give your robot the power to sense the world.

Virtual

Autonomous Robots

Train robots to make decisions on their own: avoid obstacles, follow lines, solve mazes.

Virtual

Real-World Challenges

Competition-style missions: robo soccer, pick-and-place, obstacle courses. Work in teams and win.

Physical

From Virtual to Physical

Build a real robot with motors, sensors, and controllers. The moment it clicks, you invented it.

Our Virtual Robotics Lab

Learners start in our own virtual lab — no hardware needed, right in the browser.

What Learners Actually Build

A structured, age-appropriate curriculum that grows with every learner.

Beginner

Ages 8-10

Learn what robots are and get them moving. All through games and drag-and-drop blocks.

  • What is a robot? (Brain, body, sensors)
  • Making a robot move — forward, back, turn
  • Block coding like Scratch
  • A dancing robot — lights and sound
  • Disco Time: inputs and outputs

Intermediate

Ages 10-12

Give robots senses and reactions, and bring in smarter block coding.

  • Ultrasonic sensors — robots that see
  • Touch sensors — robots that feel
  • Autonomous movement: robots that think
  • Maze solving — can your robot escape?
  • Robo Soccer — teamwork + coding
  • Advanced block logic: loops and decisions

Advanced

Ages 12-14

Complex projects, real-world challenges, and the leap to physical robots.

  • Gripper robots — pick and place
  • Line followers that stay on track
  • Real-world projects: smart home, environmental monitoring
  • Competition prep (WRO-style challenges)
  • Physical kits: Arduino, VEX, LEGO
  • Virtual to real: build the actual robot

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents and schools want to know.

No! We start from absolute zero. The first modules use drag-and-drop blocks and games, so any 8-year-old can jump in. We build up to autonomous missions and physical robots gradually.

Not at all. Learners begin in the virtual world — no hardware needed. They only move to physical robots once they understand the concepts and are ready. That keeps the cost low at the start.

Our robotics track is designed for learners aged 8 to 14. We split into Beginner (8-10), Intermediate (10-12), and Advanced (12-14) so every learner learns at the right level.

Yes. Robotics builds on the same coding, computational thinking, and engineering skills in Kenya’s CBC. It gives learners a head start in Pre-Technical Studies and beyond.

Each module takes about one month to a full school term to complete, so most learners finish the whole virtual-to-physical journey in 6 to 12 months depending on how often they practice.

Yes. We prepare teams for national and international competitions like WRO and VEX. Learners who complete the advanced track can join our competition squads.
